Explore unique and quaint shops in Chester, Greenville, Crescent Mills, Westwood. Lake Almanor, called 'California's Best-Kept Secret, has beautiful blue water with 52 miles of shoreline. The lake is spectacular, set amongst both Plumas National Forest and Lassen National Forest with a majestic and rugged backdrop of both the Sierra Nevada and Cascade Mountain Ranges (see last photo). * Summer day average temp. 87 degrees F / water surface 75 degrees F. Fall foliage provides spectacular area fall colors. Spring is a delight of burgeoning blossoms. Winter is a delight of contrast between snow and evergreens. Activities are available year round. Enjoy nature at its best!
GOLF! Tennis! LASSEN VOLCANIC NATIONAL PARK!: Bailey Creek's Golf Course is but a minute's drive. Lake Almanor Country Club Golf Course and Tennis Club are an easy 5 minute drive. Lake Almanor West Golf Course is about 20 minutes away. All golf courses and tennis courts are available for tee time and court reservations to the public. Scenic, awesome Lassen Volcanic National Park is only 30 miles away. Drive, hike, or ride horseback in the park. Sulfur pots, steam vents and lakes accessible by car. Don't miss the new Visitor's Center featuring a film about the history and formation of the park. Incredible! The BumpAss Hell hike is a relatively easy hike that takes only a couple of hours and transports you to the most unusual spectacles: azure blue waters, boiling, steaming water and mud, accessed over boardwalks. The horseback rides from Drakesbad Guest Ranch (within the park) to Boiling Springs, and points further, are unforgettable, too (reservations required). Lassen Volcanic National Park is inspiration!
