Outdoor Amenities: Outdoors, the wonders of the property expand with a screen porch and swing for bug-free relaxation. A spacious deck with tables and chairs is attached to the house and provides ample opportunity for dining al fresco. A dock juts out into Long Pond, the perfect launch for Cedarstone's canoe or rowboat. To swim off the dock is a delightful experience and a small sand beach is suitable for little children to wade. The property comes complete with paddles, oars, cushions and life jackets. A few feet from shore finds a picnic table for lakeside snacks or meals and a tent floor to accommodate additional visitors. Your guests and your pets will enjoy every minute of your vacation at Cedarstone.
Nearby Towns: The property is located 2 1/2 miles from picturesque Somesville, home to quaint shops, a repertory theatre, a bookstore called Port in a Storm, a small grocery and a gas station. Bar Harbor is a mere 20-minute drive away, or consider the services of the free Explora bus to visit this famous tourist town as well as other towns and sights on the Island. Boasting many restaurants and shops, boat tours, whale-watching expeditions, shore hikes, cultural events and a myriad of sporting opportunities, Bar Harbor has something for everyone.
Acadia National Park: Acadia National Park encompasses a good portion of Mount Desert Island with its numerous mountains and lakes. Trails for all levels of hiking and mountain climbing crisscross the Park and several lakes are available for swimming, boating and fishing. Taking Ocean Drive by car provides an excellent way to enjoy the many spectacular scenes on the Island. Nestled in the heart of the Park, Somesville and Bar Harbor, as well as the quieter towns of nearby Southwest Harbor, Bass Harbor and Manset, are meccas of sightseeing for any traveler.
