Cozy Mountain Get Away: The Iron Creek Lodge is a cozy mountain home with a lodge decor. It's meant for families and friends. The kitchen is fully equipped. It is located in a single family residential area on Buffalo Mountain within 1/2 block of the national forest. A trail head is about one block away. The views from the picture windows of Buffalo and Chief mountains are great, especially while sitting in the hot tub with snow coming down. There's plenty of room for snowmen and snow angels in the yard. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. The house has city water and electricity and city plowed streets. The drives are plowed and the garage available to park in. Beware of the neighborhood Lab. She's pretty psychic when it comes to pancakes.
Summer time: Any one who has never experienced Colorado's blue bird days is definitely not living. Clear blue skies with mild temps and low humidity make Colorado a wonderful summer destination. And there is so much to do- hike, mountain bike, cycle on the endless county bike paths, walk, fish both the river and the lakes, roller blade, shop, go four wheeling, antiquing or visit one of the many festivals that seem to happen every weekend. Colorado and Summit County in the summer are magnificent. And then in the fall the aspen turn and the whole word is gold.
Ski: Silverthorne is the first town west of the Eisenhower tunnel and the gateway to Summit County. Why ski at just one resort when 7 are just minutes from the house? Copper Mountain, Breckenridge, Loveland, Arapahoe Basin, Keystone, Vail/Beaver Creek are all short drives away as are the amenities of all these resorts. In addition, groceries, moves, and outlet mall shopping are all located in Silverthorne along with great restaurants and pubs.
Other Activities: hiking, 4 wheeling, fly fishing, snowshoeing, cross country skiing
