Hiking, Golfing and Nordic Skiing: Our popular recreation path winds from East Vail to West Vail and is ideal for a walk, jog or bike ride. The path meanders along peaceful Gore Creek, a mountain stream perfect for fly fishing or cooling off. Along the way, the beaver ponds are a terrific location for an afternoon or evening picnic as is Bighorn Park, a short stroll from our condo. East Vail is also the staging point for many of Vails's most popular hiking trails. Home to the Trailheads for the Pitkin Creek, Deluge Lake, Gore Creek, Bighorn and Booth Falls trails, East Vail is considered the gateway to the Gore Range. Also linking East Vail to Vail Village is the 18 hole public-play, par-72 Vail Golf Course including the Seasons at the Green Restaurant and Bar with spectacular views of the Gore Range and a wonderful outdoor patio. During the winter months, the golf course is transformed into a Nordic Skiing Center with groomed trails spanning the length of the snow-covered course.
Ski: Tall bear is at the bottom of the East Vail Chutes. It is Extreme skiing. Perhaps 100 people per day 'shoot the chutes'. Vail ls legendary skiing with something for everyone.
Guest Book: Tall bear has 3 guest books (and a fourth one started) full of wonderful notes, cards, and pictures for you to see while you are sitting in front of the fire after skiing and/or dinner.
Other Activities: snowboarding, cross country skiing, art galleries, 100+ restaurants, people watching.
