Discover Surf, Sand, and Sun in Huntington Beach
Huntington Beach, also known as Surf City, is literally a vacation paradise with its sunny Mediterranean climate, picture-perfect surroundings, and casual atmosphere. And when you consider the eight miles of uninterrupted beach access, the longest on the West Coast, it is clear that this is one place where you can truly leave your worries behind.
While California’s weather is generally quite amazing, Huntington Beach reaches beyond all expectations with its stable and comfortable climate. You will rarely find a rainy day in this part of Orange County, nor will it top 90 degrees on most cloudless summer days. What you will find, however, are highs in the low to mid 80s and a bright, sunny environment that beckons you to make your way to a nearby stretch of sand.
With access to the beach around almost every corner, in many instances all you’ll need to do is step outside your Huntington Beach rental and throw your towel down in the sand. You may even be lucky enough to catch a professional sporting event such as AVP Pro Beach Volleyball or the U.S. Open of Surfing without ever leaving the confines of your spacious and cozy patio.
When you decide to make your way to the beach for a day of outdoor activities, there are two great options to decide from. Huntington City Beach, home to the world famous Huntington Beach Pier, offers a little bit of everything, with possibilities ranging from surfing, swimming, and sunbathing to shopping, dining, and jogging. However, as a haven for beach volleyball players, expect to find dense crowds on the weekends and for special events.
Also be sure to check out the 3-mile-long Huntington State Beach, the area’s other popular beach and a sanctuary for the threatened snowy plover. Boasting all of your favorite water sports in addition to scenic hiking trails and a waterfront bike path, it is simply a great place to bask in the beauty of Huntington Beach.
