Florida’s Central Atlantic Coast Isn’t Just a Spring Break Destination

Though it contains one of the most popular and well-known beaches in the country (think NASCAR and spring break shenanigans), Florida’s Central Atlantic Coast also has plenty of peaceful spots perfect for hiding away from the world. Balance out the fun but hectic atmosphere of Daytona Beach with a stay along the Treasure Coast, specifically within the comfortable confines of a vacation condo, and your getaway is sure to run smoothly.

Speaking of chugging along, if you do visit Daytona Beach chances are you’ll come across something racetrack-related; if you’re a fan, schedule your visit to coincide with Speedweeks or the Pepsi 400. If you’re not into the whole motor sports scene, then aim for a week when the arenas are quiet and you’ll be free to roam the Southern-tinged city and its many lovely beaches.

To further distance yourself from the maddening crowd, however, don’t hesitate to hole up in one of the lesser-known but equally attractive destinations, like Cocoa Beach, Vero Beach, Hutchinson Island, or Port St. Lucie. New Smyrna Beach, is especially known for being family-friendly and peaceful, as it combines unspoiled, car-free beaches with mom and pop shops and restaurants.

All of these locales are within a few miles of one another and not too far from some of Florida’s other landmarks; Cape Canaveral, St. Augustine and attraction-filled Orlando, can all be reached within a couple of hours, making the Central Atlantic Coast the perfect jumping off point for your next Florida vacation.
