Location: The view is great all year, and each season has its own appeal in this area. The beach is not crowded, even in the summer, ocean water temperature can warm up to near 80 degrees. Lounging around the pool or on the beach is possible from May to October. Fishing is especially good in the late spring and early fall. Carolina Beach is full of fun things to do like amusement parks, a movie theater and shopping. Deep sea fishing trips can be arranged at the local marina. Kure Beach Fishing Pier is also nearby. A Civil War-era Fortress is just a few miles south. The fantastic North Carolina Aquarium is close to Fort Fisher, as is a ferry boat take you and your car to the appealing village of Southport for a day trip. The historic city of Wilmington and the USS North Carolina Battleship are only a short distance away.
