The Place: The condo (4 Fountain Drive East 3A) was originally decorated as an owner-occupied unit, and quality is way above average (check out the cool swivel bar chairs from Frontgate). Well-stocked kitchen, including such niceties as a professional-grade corkscrew. There is a full collection of Disney videos, several DVDs for the parents and books galore for everyone. Great stereo system with built-in speakers. Large toaster oven is a nice touch for heating up snacks. This is also a great choice for the grandparents: Underground parking, elevator and oversize doors that allow wheelchair entry makes the living easy, and protected balcony that overlooks the interactive fountain, pond, and walking trail is a great way to stay entertained, even if you can't get to the beach. Would also work well for two families of four.
The Community: If you never wanted to leave Sunset Island, you wouldn't have to. This place is unique in Ocean City; perhaps on the entire Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey coast. It's got all the bells and whistles, and if you're the type who wants more than just the beach, this is the place for you. The architecture is Key West with great colors, and open balconies and porches. The kids will never be bored with the indoor pool, outdoor pool and interactive fountain, and you'll feel safe letting them roam in this protected, gated community. Adults will love pulling up a chair and watching the sunset while enjoying a refreshing cocktail. And for those who need a good workout before lying on the beach, the gym is state-of-the-art with treadmills, weight machines, free weights, ellipticals, bikes, and three flat-screen TVs.
