Guest Book:: 'Our stay at the 'Old Ell' was thoroughly enjoyed by all of us. We really appreciated the charm and comfort level. And thank you for the directions to the hiking trails near the cottage. My first day out on the trails I hiked about 8 hours and 'bagged' Cedar Swamp, Sargent and Penobscot Mountains then returned via the Asticou Trail after a detour on the carriage road due to construction on a bridge that passes over the trail. I was unable to do Jordan Pond Cliffs -- a little too slick with the rain. It was a great start for a week of hikes and adventures in spite of getting wet that first day. I think the hiking experiences in Acadia this trip were made more meaningful to me thanks to the two books in your library: 'Trails of History' by Tom St. Germain And Jay Saunders and 'Hiking the Living Trails of Acadia National Park' by Steve Perrin.
