Whale watching, deep sea fishing, fine dining, museums, & cultural events are available in Bar Harbor, just a short 25 minute ride, or South West Harbor, 10 minutes away. Walk to a lobster dinner on the wharf at Thurston's Lobster Pound. Peruse the books at the Port in the Storm Bookstore, right across the street, for those cozy rainy days. Visit the Bass Harbor Light. Take the ferry to Swan's Island for a day trip with bike. Visit Back Beach, a 5 minute walk out the back door. Catch the free shuttle bus at the top of the hill to any destination on the island.
