Lanai is Little but Lovely
Blink and you’ll miss it, read all about Hawaii and you’ll never even hear its name; Lanai is a little known but entirely noteworthy isle that could easily serve as the perfect backdrop to a few relaxing, rejuvenating days in the sun. If you favor peace over pizzazz, tranquility over traffic jams and also like to do things a little differently, then this is the Hawaiian island to set in your sights.
Lanai has all the outdoor activities and amazing scenery you crave from an Aloha-themed vacation. Scuba diving, whale watching, hiking, swimming, strolling along the inviting beaches…there’s no need to give up anything except tourists traps and the feeling of being shoulder to shoulder with half the vacationing world.
An attraction known as “Garden of the Gods” will supply a little intrigue and “Sweetheart Rock” will provide legends and lore as well as a perfect photo-op. Reserve a roomy vacation rental, kick off your shoes for good and relish the chance to find solace in a relatively unknown – but legitimately spectacular – corner of the world.
Of course, the possibility of taking a daytrip to Molokai, Maui, Oahu or any of the other islands is always there, but it isn’t required to make the trek if you’d rather just stay put. Lanai is small but rich with activities and definitely a breath of fresh air. If you don’t mind giving up the bigger names (and bigger crowds) then you’ll be safe in your decision to make Lanai your next love.
