Cottage is a comfortable mix of early 19th century New England and up-to-date amenities. Easy 5-minute walk to Stonington village while also offering the privacy of a country cottage. Surrounded by open space on 3 sides, it sits on a quiet street but with easy access to Route One and Interstate 95. We're just 4 miles from Mystic and 4 miles from Westerly, Rhode Island, with the best ocean beaches on the North Atlantic coast. Nice open-plan renovations with kitchen, dining, and living combined into a Great Room. Master bedroom, bath, and laundry all on main floor. Lazy-Boy hide-a-bed in the living room, small guest room and a second bath upstairs for visitors. A/C, ceiling fans, excellent grand piano, VCR/DVD, cable, Hi-speed Internet, stereo, microwave, gas stove, dishwasher, et al. Stonington was the site of a pivotal battle in the War of 1812. Excellent antique shops, art galleries, historic homes, topnotch restaurants line the main street of this last remaining fishing village.

Grand piano: Quality grand piano well tuned and may be used carefully.

Golf: Many courses available locally, two of them within 3 miles of your door.

Guest Book: We have vacationed in several small towns along the east coast. None match the history, services/amenities, and people that we found in Stonington. Fresh seafood purchased on the dock, beautiful walk on the beach at sunset in Watch Hill, visits to Stonington wineries. We appreciate the caring and hospitality of Kit and Jane. Their concern for our good time was evident. We had a great two weeks. 189 Elm was a wonderful home base, a pleasure to be able to walk into Stonington. We really loved using the grill--the outdoor landscaping is SO beautiful!!
