San Francisco is overflowing with unparalleled sights and memorable attractions, you just need to know where the hidden treasures lie. Depending on the location of your San Francisco vacation rental, a day of adventure may be only few steps or a cable car ride away. However, everything you need is always within striking distance.

As dining options abound, the best seafood can obviously be found down by Fisherman’s Wharf, while the more selective can head to Union Square (set aside some time for a little shopping, too). Chinatown is not only a place to grab a bite to eat of some authentic cuisine, but it also offers excellent sightseeing to go along with the lively atmosphere.

Although the journey to Alcatraz Island is one of the most popular attractions, don’t feel obligated to go just because everyone else does. A still satisfying, and far cheaper day, can be spent strolling along the beach, walking across the Golden Gate Bridge (an absolute must to appreciate its size), or tasting some delicious ice cream in Ghirardelli Square.
