Costa del Sol - Malaga Vacation Rentals

Rentals in Costa del Sol vary from apartments and villas overlooking beach resort areas to rural villas surrounded by mountains and orchards. Reaching west to Gibraltar, the sea along the Costa del Sol is calm and the air is warm – an ideal place to rent a villa for a relaxing vacation. On the eastern portion of Costa del Sol, Malaga is the main city, where cliffs descend to an urban area surrounded by agricultural plains. Malaga’s cathedral, La Manquita, was built over hundreds of years beginning in the 1500s and its mix of architectural styles is a popular attraction, as is La Alcazaba, a Moorish fortress dating to the 700s. Just below the fortress are ruins of a Roman amphitheater and there is an archeological museum on site. A short walk from the Malaga cathedral is the Picasso Museum and the Casa Natal, the museum at his birthplace. To find nice beaches hidden in coves, visit Nerja, a beach resort city where you will also find the Caves of Nerja. To the west of Malaga, one of the prettiest towns in the Costa del Sol is Ronda. Ronda is the home of the oldest bullring in Spain and has an interesting museum about many of Spain’s most famous bullfighters. Ronda is a good day trip inland from the coastal cities of Costa del Sol. While you’re there be sure to El Tajo, a steep river gorge crossed by an old stone bridge. Marbella is a more exclusive resort area that features casinos, clubs and all manner of outdoor recreation. In nearby Puerto Banus, you can window shop at renowned fashion boutiques.
