  • The house can be rented as a 3-bed family house all year: prices on appliication. The maximum the 3-bedroom house will sleep is 6 adults with three children under 5 sharing their parents' bedrooms. The master bedroom is big enough for 1 day bed and a travel cot or two travel cots/daybeds. Travel cots and day beds are supplied. Bookings can be made by phone or email, will be confirmed by email, and will be secured by a 25% non-refundable deposit payable in euros within 5 days of acceptance of booking. Full payment is required 8 weeks prior to arrival. Bank details will be provided. A damage deposit of £500 (or Euro/dollar equivalent) is payable on arrival and will be refunded on departure if there is no substantive damage. A rental contract and full details of cancellation policy are available.
  • Rental rates include weekly linen change and weekly house clean, free broadband wifi internet, gas, electricity, water (the tap water is a mains supply and we drink it), central heating and, in winter, an initial supply of logs for the log fire. A welcome pack (milk, bread, butter, wine, tea, coffee, eggs, etc.) is supplied on arrival. Special dietary requirements for this basic pack can be arranged on request. Please note, supermarkets in Spain are not open on Sunday - except in July and August. We can organise grocery shopping for you at cost plus 15 euros - please supply shopping list 5 working days before your arrival. We also include hair driers, dressing gowns, all bed linen, kitchen, bath and pool towels and some basic toiletries and cleaning equipment. Pool cleaning and gardening is included - pool maintenance is done twice weekly in summer. Watering in the garden needs to be daily in summer, partly on automatic irrigation. We apologise for any inconvenience.
  • Additional maid service/laundry/ironing can be organised. The charge for this is 12 euros per hour payable directly to the maid. We can also organise private catering/cooking for you but please give us plenty of time, particularly at peak seasons (Christmas, Easter and during the summer). This is an extra cost.

During the low season the house can be converted to a two bedroom house sleeping 4 by closing the connecting door to the downstairs bedroom suite - see rates. All bedrooms are large with en suite and king size double beds that can be converted to single beds if required (please advise before arrival if you wish to have twins). All bedrooms have fabulous views and verandah, balcony or patio. Master bedroom with sound system & rowing machine on verandah. Downstairs ground floor bedroom accessible by wheel chair. Radiators and remote controlled fans in all bedrooms. Safe in master bedroom. All bedrooms with large built in wardrobes. Travel cots, camp beds, high chair are available for up to three children under five sharing parents' bedrooms. Master bedroom is large enough to take two children sharing with parents. Notes: Two portable air-con units available. Ceiling fans in all rooms. Free WiFi internet broadband by prior arrangement. Kitchen is v. well equipped with range cooker with 5 gas rings, 2 electric ovens (one fan, one convection), grill, griddle and plate warmer. Large fridge/freezer with ice and water dispenser. Underfloor heating in all main reception rooms and radiators in all bedrooms. American style gas BBQ (sorry - no charcoal BBQs permitted - this is a Natural park). Log fire in living room + enough logs for 2 days supplied for winter rentals. Mobile phone reception is good. Children are welcome but pool is unfenced and there are steps and retaining walls. 3 travel cots (please bring your own baby linen), one high chair. Pool is accessible down steps. Please talk to us if you are mobility impaired or are with mobility impaired guests. Private chef and daily housekeeping at extra cost. Golf equipment extra by prior arrangement. Weekly linen change and house cleaning included.

Bird watching: Sierra Crestellina, the mountain behind Finca Las Aguilas is well known as the largest griffon vulture roosting and nesting site in southern Spain, and the main roosts are directly visible from the terrace. Other birds overhead every day include eagles, buzzards, falcons, choughs, and bee-eaters. Ibex are seen virtually every day on the crags, while roe deer and wild boar are often seen on the lower slopes. The property commands truly majestic views over the Genal Valley which is one of the main European bird migration routes from Gibraltar and flocks of honey buzzards and storks are regularly seen close overhead during the spring and autumn migration periods.

The garden : The villa sits in 6 acres of romantic landscaped and natural garden. The landscaped garden has lemon, orange, mandarin, pomegranate, olive and fig trees and a wide variety of herbs, ornamental trees and shrubs including hibiscus, roses, bougainvillea, jasmine, rosemary, bay and lavender. You are welcome to pick the fruit and use the herbs. There are extensive paved patio areas and a 30-metre Moorish style paved canal with a fountain, lined with orange trees. A low-key external lighting system on a time switch can be activated if desired. The wild garden is fenced and the local shepherd sometimes grazes his sheep here. During spring this area is a profusion of beautiful wild flowers including narcissi, asphodel, marguerites, and over 20 varieties of orchid. While the local goats are not welcome in the garden they do produce fabulous (prize-winning) cheese which is available at the queseria 2 km up the road at Venta La Laguna.

The house and pool: The house is built in traditional Andaluz style with thick walls, vaulted ceilings, terracotta tiled floors, archways and shutters on bedroom windows. It is cool in summer and warm in winter. It is fully furnished and equipped - with enough glasses, cutlery and crockery for 20 and board games, books, CDs,videos and DVDs which you are welcome to use. There are two large west-facing covered verandahs with seating, tables and chairs. We have a very detailed house book - and a guest book which we hope you will sign when you leave! The 11.5 x 5 metre pool has extensive tiled sunbathing areas with stunning views, a small lawned garden,and a covered pergola with power points, table and chairs, sun loungers and hammocks. There is also an outside (cold water) shower and a small changing room with WC, mirror, hand basin, power point and plastic glasses, crockery and cutlery for pool side use. The pool and surrounding area can be lit at night.

Other Activities: Winter skiing is available in the Sierra Nevada 2.5 hours away, & Tarifa, Europe's windsurfing capital is 1hrs drive
