Continued Desription of Casa Paloma :Arriba : Felipe , the gardener will tenderly maintain the lush tropical gardens that surround your palapa during your stay. Amenities: Yelapa is a small indigenous fishing village of three thousand local people and approximately one hundred visitors from the north, located l7 miles south of Puerto Vallarta in the Bay of Banderas. It is accessible only by boat and has no cars. Electricity has come to Yelapa, however the casa will continue to have a romantic ambiance created by candlelight with only the kitchen area having an electric light . The pueblo is a short 5 minute walk down a gentle dirt hill with scattered stone steps and three benches to sit and rest and watch the butterflies.

The markets provide fresh fruits, vegetables, fish and meat( every Friday a cow is butchered and the fresh organic meat is available). Restaurants abound in the village and on the main beach. There is a post office, fax, phone and Internet cafes. For entertainment there are live music venues, a disco two times a week, the Mexican baile on Sunday nights and art openings at the Hotel Lagunita. The main beach , dotted with palapa restaurants, beach vendors and an art gallery is a ten-minute walk from the property. From the main beach one can easily access the peaceful jungle area up-river known as El Paso where a variety of water birds and parrots will delight you.

For the outdoor enthusiasts; swimming, snorkeling, deep-sea fishing, scuba diving, horseback riding (see the postmaster Margarito), hiking to waterfalls and the village of Chacala (3 hours up the mountains), hang gliding, and day trips to remote beaches and islands (see Felipe to arrange day trips), round out your tropical Mexican adventure.
