- Please note: we never rent out our farmhouse to more than one party, so that facilities are never shared during the season April to October inclusive. Included in the rental price is: Air conditioning to every bedroom during high and peak season, maid service once weekly, all towels and linen (except for sheets/covers for babies in cot), pool towels, toddlers paddling pool, cot & high chair. All gas and electricity is included from 24th April 2010 to 22nd October 2010 and 23rd April 2011 to 22nd October 2011. Our housekeeper also speaks French, is a professional cook and can be hired to cater delicious meals for our Guests. Our permanent gardener/groundsman will light the pizza forno upon request. According to our guests, from that forno, our housekeeper bakes the best pizzas ever eaten! All ripe produce can be freely picked in season by our guests. Cherries; apricots; mulberries; figs; grapes etc.

- ROSA has a queen-size double bed and French windows leading out on to a terrace with table and chairs. FLORA has large twin beds and French windows with a magnificent view down the valley towards the Appenines. GIRASOLE is a large bedroom with twin beds and French windows leading out on the an extensive terrace with seating and the same view as Flora. PAPAVERE is an apartment that can be annexed to the main house. It has a sleeping area with a queen-size double bed; a living room area that has a double sofa-bed and open fireplace and a corner kitchen. The bathroom in Papavere also has a full size bath. French windows lead out to the same extensive terrace as Girasole.

THE SWIMMINGPOOL COMPLEX. : We have built a magnificent 14X6 mt pool surrounded by 350 sq. mtrs of terraces, walkways, flower beds, cypress and olive trees. THE POOLHOUSE has a shower/ WC, summer kitchen and large shaded terrace, table and chairs, barbeques and pizza forno, from which to enjoy al-fresco meals with stunning views across the valley. Mediaeval Lippiano Castle and the lush green Umbrian Hills form a backdrop. We installed the finest pool equipment from the USA made by Culligan. The Diatomea Filter(Fullers Earth)filters out all particles over 0.50 microns. (The average Sand filter, filters out particles over 30 microns, making ours 60X more efficient) The Chlorination and Ph levels are computer controlled. Our groundsman cleans the pool and checks water quality weekly. An electrically controlled pool cover for insulation and safety is installed. The 14 mtr infinity edge allows you to feel as if you are swimming in the valley whilst listening to your favourite music from the outdoor speakers.
THE VILLAGE: Monterchi, its name derived from 'MONS HERCULIS' (hill of Hercules) whose cult was celebrated here in ancient Etruscan and Roman periods, is home of the famous Renaissance fresco 'The Madonna del Parto' (The Madonna of Childbirth) The mother of Piero della Francesca, the painter of the fresco, was born in Monterchi and the village became famous when in 1888 the fresco, painted in 1446 and considered one of Piero's finest masterpieces, was uncovered in the chapel of the cemetery. This restored fresco is now well displayed in the old village schoolhouse.
SIGHTSEEING: Podere Borgacciano is a 'Springboard' for sightseeing. Florence (130 kms); Siena (90 kms);San Gimingnano (110 kms.) Assisi (75 kms) Pisa (150 kms); Perugia (65 kms); Arezzo (30 kms) (all distances approx.) are within easy reach. Rome, Bologna, and the Chianti wine countryside are within one to two hours travel. Both the Mediterranean and Adriatic coasts are no more than 2 hrs easy travel. Local pearls such as Sansepolcro, Citta di Castello, Gubbio, Urbino, Anghiari, Caprese Michaelangelo (the artist's birthplace) and many more, abound with culture, art treasures, music and folk festivals.
