The short ferry ride from Clegan to the island of Inishboffin, gives the visitor an unparalleled view of some of the most beautiful sunsets to be savoured on the West coast of Ireland. Inishboffin itself has remained unchanged for generations, with its traditions very much alive. Because the islanders practise time honoured methods of farming many animals and birds at risk on the mainland flourish here and the clean seas attract a large variety of fish which in turn attract the seals which can be seen sunbathing and playing on the rocks and sandy beaches. Explore one of the many archaeological sites in the area such as St Feichines' Church in Omey Island which is a 1 km walk/drive across the sand causeway.

For families a trip to the Oceans Alive Sealife centre is a must or visit one of the many pretty villages in the area such as Roundstone or Tullycross.
