Transport: Excellent METRO/ SUBWAY links: 1 minute walk from 'Saint Paul du Marais station' (Line 1, direct to the Louvre - though that too is within easy walking distance , and 'Chatelet -Les Halles Station': main interlink of 5 lines of metro and 2 RER ( train for CDGAirport and ORLYAirport, Disneyland). Easy distance from all TRAIN STATIONS. AIRPORTS: around 30 minutes . A TAXI RANK is located 1 minute walk ( although taxis can be stopped anywhere). There is a private garage parking.
THE AREA: Le Marais: The MARAIS is one of the liveliest, and safest, areas of the whole of Paris. It has world-famous museums and galleries within easy walking distance. Great restaurants and bars, fashion and art/design boutiques, and shops of every variety (bakers, green grocers, daily market...). There are also churches of every denomination. Swimming and Cinemas are nearby.
An hôtel particulier is not a commercial hotel !: In French contexts an hôtel particulier is an urban 'private house' of a grand sort. Whereas an ordinary maison was built as part of a row, sharing party walls with the houses on either side and directly fronting on a street, an hôtel particulier was often free-standing, and by the eighteenth century it would always be located entre cour et jardin, between the entrance court, the cour d’honneur , and the garden behind.Paris is not the only city with hôtels particuliers: see Hôtels of Montpellier , for instance.
