Set between the Basse and Moyenne Corniches, in a beautifully landscaped garden setting, within a secure and highly sought after block, this 1 bedroom apartment sits above Villefranche sur Mer and is just 10 minutes from the bustle of Nice. Inside, this spacious, light and bright apartment, benefits from a recent high quality refurbishment and is appointed with top of the range Italian furniture, fixtures and fittings. From a large terrace and from each of the living rooms there is ample space for al fresco dining and the views over Villefranche, Beaulieu, St Jean, Cap Ferrat, are breathtaking. There is a dedicated parking garage in the basement. While a car is useful, for those who enjoy walking there are pleasant footpaths leading down to the waterfront restaurants of Villefranche sur Mer, beaches, harbour etc and up to the shops of Col de Villefranche. There is easy bus and train access to nearby Eze, Monaco and Nice and to more distant destinations such as Menton and Antibes.

It has one of the most sheltered natural harbours on the south coast of France and consequently provides a popular stopping off point for visiting cruise ships and shelter for visiting yacht men, which is how I first discovered its charm.

  • Weekly rates will be reduced for longer tenancies: 5% for 2 weeks; 10% for 3 weeks; 15% for 4 weeks.
    Reductions for stays longer than 4 weeks by arrangement.
    The usual change-over day is Saturday, but by agreement other days might be possible.
    Bookings in 1 week modules with 2 weeks or more preferred, but other periods might be possible.

Not being overlooked it is possible to sleep with the curtains pulled back to enjoy the lights twinkling around the harbour.

Notes: The apartment is furnished to the highest standard and with white marble flooring throughout provides a clean and easily maintained living space. The kitchen and bathroom have both been recently modernised to the highest specification. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and access is via locked gates operated by a personalised electronic control. There is parking within the secure and gated grounds and a dedicated garage within the basement of the apartment block. Probably not the most ideal apartment for young children. While telephone, Internet and cable TV are available there will be additional charges for having these connected and for the line rentals. These connections would normally only be practical for longer term rentals.

General: There are regular markets in the nearby villages of Villefranche, Beaulieu and of course Nice has a world renowned fruit and vegetable market and regular antique markets. Nice also has a wealth of museums, art galleries and an excellent opera house. There are the varied attractions from the Menton music festival to the Monaco Grand Prix, to the film festival in Cannes. For those interested in sailing there are regular yachting regattas in Antibes, Cannes and Monaco. Coastal paths from Villefranche through Beaulieu and St Jean, and then around Cap Ferrat provide wonderful scope for most enjoyable walks with lots of world renowned restaurants and bars making pleasant stopovers. In Villefranche itself quayside restaurants mingle with the colours of local fishing boats and nets. Little wonder it continues to be a favourite with so many artists, writers and other discerning aesthetes.

Special Attractions: There are frequent sailing regattas, including some wonderful events bringing together classic yachts from around the world. For those interested in antiques there are around the old port of Nice any number of excellent galleries and markets, and Villefranche hosts a weekly open air antique market on the waterfront. For those who love music there are regular internationally renowned music festivals along the Riviera, and of course there are the special attractions of the Monaco grand Prix, the Canne Film Festival, and any number of other sporting and cultural events.

Other Activities: Provides easy access to the various sporting events, such as the Monaco Grand Prix and sailing regattas, and to a multitude of cultural events.
