The property consists of:: Ground floor: Entrance. Stairs up.... Ist floor: Dining room (seats 8) with piano, kitchen, laundry/ WC. 2nd floor:Living room:TV (poor reception), Books. Masterbedroom/ensuite bathroom. 3rd Floor: Twin bedroom, Single bedroom, Bathroom, WC. No garden.The flat is in Bloomsbury - for centuries much favoured by writers and artists. Charles Dickens wrote David Copperfield when he was living nearby, The Pre-Raphaelite brotherhood was founded locally and the celebrated 'Bloomsbury Group' (included Virginia Woolf) also lived in the area. Now there is an interesting mixture of old and new, commercial and residential, and has the benefit of being both in the heart of London and also relatively quiet. The nearest tube stations are Holborn and Russell Square, both five minutes walk away.The age of this flat makes it very special and visitors will be expected to treat it with the respect due to the aged! Much of it is wood-panelled however there is a sophisticated fire alarm system.
The Area: The flat is in Bloomsbury - for centuries much favoured by writers and artists. Charles Dickens wrote David Copperfield when he was living nearby, The Pre-Raphaelite brotherhood was founded locally and the celebrated 'Bloomsbury Group' (included Virginia Woolf) also lived in the area. Now there is an interesting mixture of old and new, commercial and residential, and the flat has the benefit of being both in the heart of London and also relatively quiet. The nearest tube stations are Holborn and Russell Square, both five minutes walk away. The street abounds with interesting restaurants and shops - all you need for a comfortable stay is on your doorstep! We also rent out a 15th century medieval barn, and a 17th century converted stables and a medieval Bee House in the countryside, and a tiny Weaver's Cottage in the market town of Castle Cary only 90 minutes by train from London.
