Just a few bookings left! This historic Acadian house, sitting high on the crest of Cheticamp Island offers views of the harbour and mountains from every window. It features both privacy and easy access to the Highlands National Park (10 minutes) and to the town of Cheticamp with its many fine restaurants, shops, music and whale cruises (7 minutes). The island is connected to the mainland and the Cabot Trail by the causeway running beside the warm water sand beach. Trails from the house lead to the beach, the Capes on the Gulf of St Lawrence, and the lighthouse on the north end of the island. Enjoy a family vacation hiking in the park, strolling over paths on the island, swimming at the beach, paddling small boats, playing a game of horseshoes, picking blueberries, or just taking turns lying in the hammock while admiring the fabulous view. The recently renovated house features a wood stove, laundry, cable T.V., garage and small boats. Families and dogs very welcome. No smoking please

The fishing village of Cheticamp is located on the Cabot Trail at the western entrance to the spectacular Highlands National Park, and is the heart of Acadian culture on Cape Breton. Cheticamp Island, connected to the mainland by a causeway, offers both privacy and easy access to the many fine restaurants, shops, local music and whale watching tours of the town. Choose to hike the many trails in the Park or to explore the paths on the island. Walk to to the cliffs on the Gulf of St Lawrence, to the lighthouse, or to the long warm water sand beach. Watch whales feeding off of the point, row across the harbour to town for lunch, and come home to enjoy the view.

Three bedrooms upstairs with full bath, living room and eat-in kitchen downstairs- this house was originally located at Cap Rouge in the Present Cape Bretons Highland National Park, and removed (floated!) to Cheticamp Island when the Park was established in 1940. A simple Acadian style house, fully renovated, surrounded by acres of hayfields. The 'Queen' of Cheticamp Island!
