Location/Activities: This retreat is located on over 3 3/4 private acres bordered by the National Forest. It is in the heart of the Aska Adventure Area where hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, and tubing are just minutes away. It is famous for the multitude of outdoor activities just waiting for you. The Benton MacKay Trail and the Appalachian Trail both run through the area. We have maps and directions to numerous trails, beginner to expert. Tubing down the Toccoa River is a summer pastime that is great fun! Lake Blue Ridge is here and that means jet skis and boat rentals! With all this activity, thank goodness for the relaxing hot tub! For those days that require a little less exertion, Blue Ridge has wonderful shops and restaurants to spend a few hours browsing through. Mercier Orchards is right across HWY 515, and they make the BEST fried apple pies. They also have delicious cheeses and gourmet foods to buy for those that were not fortunate enough to stay here !

Furnishings: Upstairs is the master bedroom (queen log bed that looks out through HUGE windows to the serene forest). The master bath has a separate shower and a rock-sided bathing tub. There is the fully equipped kitchen with table and 6 chairs and all the appliances you need to make this a stress-free vacation (crock-pot, programmable coffee pot, pots/pans). The 1st great room is here with its river-rock gas fireplace, TV, DVD, and DirectTV. Just outside is the covered, wooden deck with rockers, gas BBQ, and endless view of wildlife. Just steps away is the BRAND-NEW 6 person hot tub. Downstairs are 2 more bedrooms. One has another queen log bed and the other has 2 sets of bunk beds (for a great nights sleep, they have regular twin mattresses, not bunkies). There is the 2nd great room, also with a gas fireplace, TV, DVD. and DirectTV. The 2 bathroom is there with a full shower/tub. There is a super-comfy couch that turns into a queen sleeper sofa should you need the extra sleep space.

Furnishings: We have furnished this cabin like our second home-not like a rental. We have board games and puzzles, an electronic dart board, and old-fashioned stove-top popcorn maker for making snacks while you play games. Both of our great rooms have TV with DirectTV on each and DVD players. This is great for larger groups and those families with teenagers who like a little extra space. Our high beam ceilings upstairs make for a real 'cabin' feeling. The cabin was built with two great rooms, each with its own gas fireplace, very easy for starting on those chilly nights. The downstairs has BEAUTIFUL slate floor which makes is so easy to clean up spills and drops- heaven for those of us with small children. The upstairs is completely done with wood flooring, adding a soft warm feeling to the surroundings. We have rockers on both the front and back porch to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Just outside, we have a rock fire ring for bonfires and smores, and horseshoes to have fun with.
